Yesterday brought a few surprises. Our new neighbor brought over homemade chocolate chip cookies and introduced herself. Where am I? That is the kind of stuff only seen in movies not reality. We were so surprised and my kids got the biggest kick out of their kindness. We talked about it all day. Wow, there are nice people in the world and one lives next door. I have to admit, the minute I found out she lived next to our back yard, I apologized in advance that my kids will be knocking on her door when the volleyball goes over the fence. Our last neighbor didn't enjoy our inability to keep the ball in the yard. Whoops, humans live here.
Anyhow, sewing was on the menu yesterday when Adam took his nap. I ran upstairs and made a toaster cozy cover for our new toaster. I figured now was the time to make a little cover for it since it's new.
My inspiration picture sits on the next counter and I wanted something that would kind of match.
As I fumbled through fabric, scraps and boxes searching for the rotary cutter I ran across a couple blocks I made about a year ago. I think I actually blogged that I intended to make potholders from them. Oops, side tracked again as it didn't happen, so I integrated them into the toaster cover instead.
You know, I never go to bed with a toaster under my arm. I just don't think its appropriate or sexy. I usually have a glass of water and my phone but never the toaster. I mean, really, what am I to say, hey baby, let's make toast? How would you like it... lightly toasted or slightly dark? Last night was a first, after eight years of marriage I brought a toaster to the bedroom. I had to show honey buns what I made.
Here it is! I hope you like it as much as I do. I feel happy that I was able to use some of the stuff I have laying around in a productive project.
Wishing you a day of continuous blessings with the perfect toast!
Anna
